The Canton Charge (12-8), powered by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, cruised to a wire-to-wire win over the Salt Lake City Stars (5-15), 120-74, in Utah on Saturday night. The victory extended Canton’s streak to six straight games and was their eighth in the last nine games.
The 46-point margin of victory was a new franchise record, surpassing the previous mark set in a 118-88 win over the Springfield Armor on 12/8/12. Canton also set a franchise record for rebounds in a game, nabbing 62 as a team tonight after trying the record at Erie on 12/30 of this season.
Eight Charge players scored in double figures, with all 10 men in uniform getting in the scoring column for at least 7+ points. Eric Moreland posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds with two blocks in 23 minutes. Roosevelt Jones also added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds and a +42 impact when on the floor.
