Charge Cruise to Sixth Straight Victory

Official Release | January 7, 2017

The Canton Charge (12-8), powered by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, cruised to a wire-to-wire win over the Salt Lake City Stars (5-15), 120-74, in Utah on Saturday night.  The victory extended Canton’s streak to six straight games and was their eighth in the last nine games.

The 46-point margin of victory was a new franchise record, surpassing the previous mark set in a 118-88 win over the Springfield Armor on 12/8/12.  Canton also set a franchise record for rebounds in a game, nabbing 62 as a team tonight after trying the record at Erie on 12/30 of this season.

Eight Charge players scored in double figures, with all 10 men in uniform getting in the scoring column for at least 7+ points.  Eric Moreland posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds with two blocks in 23 minutes.  Roosevelt Jones also added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds and a +42 impact when on the floor.

The Charge look to keep the streak going on the road this Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00 p.m. against the Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors).  Get locked in as a member of Charge Nation for the rest of the 2016-17 season and get a host of benefits that start immediately!
