The Canton Charge (27-17), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, won their eighth consecutive game in a 113-102 victory over the Erie BayHawks (12-30) on Tuesday night.
The Charge hit 15-of-31 attempts from three-point range as a team (48%) for a new season-high for makes. Quinn Cook hit 6-of-9 threes himself, scoring 31 points with nine assists, six rebounds and two steals in 36 minutes. Jonathan Holmes had 20 points on 8-of-15 from the field with five rebounds in 34 minutes. Eric Moreland had an all-around effort of eight points, eight rebounds, three steals and five blocks in 29 minutes.
Erie’s Kalin Lucas netted a game-high 32 points on 11-of-11 from the foul line with six boards in 42 minutes. T.J. Price scored 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting with five rebounds, five assists and three steals in 43 minutes. Stefan Jankovic came off the bench for the BayHawks to score 21 points and grab eight rebounds in 31 minutes. Canton wins the season series between the two teams, 3-1, and improves their overall advantage in the head-to-head matchup to 24-11.
The Charge bench finished with 46 points, the second-most total for reserves in a game this season. Gerald Beverly led the unit with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and seven rebounds in 22 minutes. Cameron Jones added 13 points in 27 minutes and Jordon Crawford scored his most points in a Canton uniform with 12 in 21 minutes. Kevin Olekaibe added seven points and three steals in 13 minutes.
